SCRAN is a CALIFORNIA NON-PROFIT CORPORATION located in the area of Torrance, California. SCRAN has, for use by authorized members, a "CLOSED ACCESS" repeater, WA6RJA/RPT. The repeater is presently located at about the 1400 foot level of Palos Verdes. The system presently has AUTO-PATCH privileges into the 213, 310, 424, 562, 714, 323, 818 and 626 privileges available. This repeater is basically a rag-chew repeater where rag-chew and auto-patch have equal priority. Membership in SCRAN is available to any LICENSED AMATEUR RADIO OPERATOR OF TECHNICIAN CLASS OR ABOVE. Due to a saturation factor, present membership is limited to a maximum of two hundred members. SCRAN TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP

ALL APPLICANTS, IF ACCEPTED FOR MEMBERSHIP IN SCRAN, AGREE TO THE
FOLLOWING:

1. To operate at all times in strict compliance with all FCC RULES AND REGULATIONS while using the repeater.

2. To operate at all times in strict compliance with good amateur radio service operating procedures and practices.

3. To use the amateur radio service and the WA6RJA repeater for NON-COMMERCIAL PURPOSES - Commercially oriented calls are subject to immediate termination by any monitoring authorized control operator without notice.

4. To pay, when due, all fair assessments made, on a fair share basis, to cover all operating, maintenance and equipment costs. For all practical purposes, assessment billings will be made quarterly. (Jan - Feb - Mar) (Apr - May - Jun) Etc.

5. The membership dues are $18.00 per quarter. Dues are due the first day of each quarter. (Jan. 1st, Apr. 1st, July 1st, and Oct. 1st) The initiation fee is $20.00 and is payable at the time of acceptance.

6. PLEASE SEND NO MONEY UNTIL YOUR MEMBERSHIP IS APPROVED.

Associate membership is available for any licensed amateur who lives in your household. To qualify one must be licensed for amateur radio of technician class or above and must reside with the primary member. A one time initiation fee of $10.00 is required for each associate.

Membership meetings are not a requirement, however, we do have breakfasts, coffee breaks and other social functions from time to time that all are encouraged to attend.

We do want to impress on all applicants that we are by no means just an autopatch machine. SCRAN is a community service oriented organization and we do expect members to be active. We would much prefer to classify all members as participating members. The autopatch is just one of the features of the machine

and is used for the convenience of it's members and during special functions. It has no priority over any rag-chewing or anything else that might be going on. We are not an "RCC". Ma-bell has the corner on that market. We are sticklers on commercially oriented calls.

All applicants will be met with on a personal basis with one or more of our control operators. All new members will have a six month probation period. Once we receive your application we will call you to make arrangements to meet with you and indoctrinate you on the SCRAN system. The initiation fee plus the amount to bring you current for the remainder of the present quarter must be paid at the time of acceptance.
